His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia appeared before the Senate’s County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) where he was given a clean bill of health for the audited books of 2018/ 2019 financial year.
The session chaired by Taita Taveta Senator Johnes Mwaruma and deputised by his Marsabit counterpart Godana Hargura was satisfied with responses from the governor on various issues that were discussed.
The committee praised Governor Kimemia for presiding over a transparent regime hence the few audit queries from the office of the Auditor General.
The senate committee was also impressed by the steps taken by Governor Kimemia in implementing projects that touch directly on the people’s lives.
Turkana Senator Charles Imana noted that going through the audited systems of Nyandarua County, he was impressed by how organised the regime was saying other county bosses should emulate Governor Kimemia.
Giving his concluding remarks, Senator Hargura, who is the vice chair of the committee, said that by honouring the invite by the senate, Governor Kimemia had shown that he had nothing to hide.
He said the meticulous presentation by the Nyandarua County government to the senate had made the session brief and without many questions from members of the committee.
