His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia on January 30th  joined 7,000 leaders from the Central Region Economic Bloc (CEREB) in unanimously backing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) during a consultative meeting with His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County.

Governor Kimemia said Nyandarua and the wider bloc stands to benefit from the BBI process because it will enhance national stability and increase resources for devolution, both of which have direct impact on Wanjiku.

The primary objective of CEREB is leveraging on economies of scale in undertaking joint development projects and activities for its 10 member counties, which are Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Kiambu and Nakuru.

Governor Kimemia was elected the first head of the bloc after the 2017 General Election.
Leaders at today’s meeting included representatives of the youth, women, politicians and other grassroots formations.
