In Nairobi, where His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses N. Kiarie Badilisha met with Micro and Small Enterprises Authority Board Chairman Mr. James Mureu and Chief Executive Offices Mr. Henry Rithaa.
The leaders discussed enhancing the business environment for MSEs in Nyandarua, alongside operationalization of the upcoming cold storage facility in Ol’Kalou, which aims at reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing the value of agricultural produce and increasing farmers’ earnings.
While inspecting the facility on August 26, 2022, Governor Badilisha had challenged the contractor to complete it by this month.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta broke ground for the facility during an extensive development tour of Nyandarua with former Governor Francis Kimemia on January 31, 2020.
Governor Badilisha, who has welcomed the National Government’s ongoing support, has also noted that a similar facility may be required in Kinangop Sub-County.
The County Government is rapidly multiplying clean potato seed varieties at the Agriculture Training Center in Ol’Jororok Sub-County, alongside the National Youth Service’s farm at Tumaini, Ol’Kalou Sub-County.
