Governor Mashinani fora at Baari, Mutanga and Kahembe villages in Kiriita ward, Ndaragwa Sub-County where His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia issued LPG gas cylinders to the elderly and inspected development projects undertaken by the county government.
Over 1,000 elderly people and vulnerable families received the free gas cylinders at Baari Health Centre and at Mutanga Catholic Church compound.
The Governor also visited the family of Mr Paul Kihika at Kahembe village, whose household is the latest beneficiary of Leshau Karagoine Water project that is expected to benefit over 3,800 households across Kiriita Ward. The residents thanked the Governor for the project, which has seen them access piped water in their homes.
Governor Kimemia later inspected roads across the ward, which have been rehabilitated in the second phase of the County Machinery programme.
He said the rehabilitation of roads across all the 25 wards will be complete before the end of year thanks to the construction machinery acquired by the county after emerging first in the World Bank Group’s Kenya Devolution Support Programme (KDSP) consecutive rankings.
The governor was accompanied by County Executive Committee members Hon. Milkah Wanjiru (Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources) Hon. Mary Mugwanja (Transport, Energy and Public Works), Hon. Raphael Njui (Industrialisation, Trade, Cooperatives and Urban Development) Ann Mary Gathigia (Youths, Sports, Gender and Social Services), Daniel Wangenye (Education, Culture and the Arts) Chief of Staff Mr. Charles Wachira among other county staff.
Kiriita Ward MCA Justus Gaita was also present.
