His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia today presided over the issuance of title deeds to residents of colonial villages in Kinangop and Kipipiri sub counties.
He issued the precious documents to residents of Njabini colonial village in Njabini-Kiburu ward and a similar village in Githioro ward.
Those who have received the title deeds could not hide the joy of obtaining such a crucial document necessary for complete legal possession of their land. They praised Governor Kimemia for supporting and facilitating the process.
Following a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta last year when he visited Nyandarua, both the national and county governments have been working round the clock to fast-track the process of resolving outstanding disputes in various villages in the county.
The first batch of 1000 titles was issued by President Kenyatta who promised an additional 4000 for residents living in the colonial villages.
Governor Kimemia said following the completion of the surveying of the colonial villages, infrastructure and social amenities will be improved.
Present was County Executive Committee Members Hon. Raphael Njui, Hon. Dominic Murani and Hon. Stephen Njoroge.
County Commissioner Mr. Benson Leparmorijo, Njabini- Kiburu Ward Member of the County Assembly Hon. James Kiiru Gachomba, among other senior government officials also attended the functions.
