The County Rural Roads Construction Programme will be recast to address challenges facing Nyandarua’s roads, His Excellency (Dr.) Moses N. Badilisha Kiarie has said.
Addressing a joint meeting of County administration officers and technical staff from the Department of Transport, Energy and Public Works in Ol’Kalou this morning, Governor Badilisha directed that all roads and transport arteries requiring attention be dealt with immediately through remodeled Unit Committees, bringing together different stakeholders.
“There is need to bring efficiency and ensure value for money in how these machinery are deployed. And one way is to borrow from the experience of the past, learn and make corrective measures that enable full realization of public good,” he said, adding that new committees and operational guidelines will be out in coming days.
The re-constituted units will include representatives from both the Executive and Assembly arms of the County Government.
Present was acting County Secretary and Public Service Mr. Muigai Wainaina, alongside Chief Officers Ms. Mary Ndorongo (Public Administration and Information Communication Technology) and Mr. Martin Mwangi (Transport, Energy and Public Works), among other senior County Government officials.
