A huge sigh of relief for residents of Gatimu Ward, Ol’Jororok Sub-County, as His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia opens Kanguû Dispensary and commissions an ambulance for the facility.
The dispensary, which has been operational since December 18, 2020, is manned by a clinical officer and two trained nurses.
With modern equipment, it is expected to serve a minimum of 5,000 people from the Ward.
In line with his ongoing countywide commitment to the health sector, Governor Kimemia announced that the facility will further be equipped with a dental section, additional nurses and cancer medication ahead of an upgrade into a health center with a functional maternity wing.
Present were County Executive Committee members Hon. Stephen Njoroge (acting County Secretary / Finance and Economic Development), Hon. Anne-Mary Gathigia (Youth, Sports, Gender and Social services), Hon. Mary Mugwanja (Transport, Energy and Public Works), Hon. Milka Wanjiru (Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources), Hon. Anne Githinji (County Attorney), Hon. (Dr.) John Mungai (Health Services) and Hon. (Dr.) James Karitu (Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries).
In attendance was area Member of the County Assembly Hon. Kieru Wambui, Chief of Staff Mr. Charles Wachira, all Chief Officers and members of the Governor’s Service Delivery Unit, among other senior County Government officials.
