Chief Administrative Secretary Hon. Lawrence Karanja (Trade, Industrialization and Enterprise) and County Executive Committee Member for Industrialization, Trade, Co-operatives and Urban Development Hon. Raphael Njui during an inspection of the upcoming cold storage facility in Ol’Kalou.
His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta broke ground for the facility during an extensive development tour of Nyandarua with His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia on January 31, 2020.
At 85 per cent complete, it is expected to be ready for use by mid-March 2021.
Hon. Karanja vowed to take punitive action against the project’s equipment supplier, whose pace of work he noted has slowed construction.
Hon. Njui welcomed Hon. Karanja’s intervention, since timely completion will help end post-harvest losses for Nyandarua’s farmers.
