His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia inspects ongoing works at the upcoming Tissue Culture Laboratory located inside the Agriculture Training Center in Gatimu Ward, Ol’Jororok Sub-County.
The project, which is a partnership between the European Union and the County Government, is expected to aid in rapid seed potato multiplication in order to improve overall productivity in the sub-sector Nyandarua.
Nyandarua is the leading potato producer in Kenya.
Present were County Executive Committee members Hon. Stephen Njoroge (acting County Secretary / Finance and Economic Development), Hon. Anne-Mary Gathigia (Youth, Sports, Gender and Social services), Hon. Mary Mugwanja (Transport, Energy and Public Works), Hon. Milka Wanjiru (Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources), Hon. Anne Githinji (County Attorney), Hon. (Dr.) John Mungai (Health Services) and Hon. (Dr.) James Karitu (Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries).
In attendance was Chief of Staff Mr. Charles Wachira, all Chief Officers and members of the Governor’s Service Delivery Unit, among other senior County Government officials.
