At Ol’bolossat forest station in Ol’joro-orok Sub-County, His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia unveiled build-up activities for tree planting, ahead of a national launch at ATC Njabini on April 26, 2018.
Four million seedlings are available for this purpose.
Nyandarua is a vast County, with a very high diversity of forests, whose cover stands at 18.44 per cent.
Governor Kimemia led County residents in planting trees on a total of 25 acres at the Ol’bolossat forest.
“My Government stands ready to work with all stakeholders to green every inch of our County,” he said.
During World Wetlands Day celebrations at Kichakani on February 2, 2018, Governor Kimemia had pledged to spare no effort to secure Central Kenya’s only lake: Ol’bolossat.
This afternoon, the County head noted that his administration had shown the way by securing the lake’s gazzettment.
“I remind us, however, that any evictions that may follow will be carried out in accordance with the law,” he said
