Governor to MCAs: Embrace Mega projects.
Members of Nyandarua County Assembly should focus on financing mega projects that have impact on the people instead of allocating money to numerous small projects in the wards.
Nyandarua Governor, H.E Daniel Waithaka Mwangi said MCAs should not resist allocating money to mega projects only because such projects were not located in their wards.
“We should focus on mega projects such as the on-going upgrade of JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital and Engineer Hospital instead of financing numerous small projects that have little impact on the people,” he said.
The Governor was speaking at JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital when he laid foundation stones for the construction of a maternity theatre and an emergency unit which is expected to cost Sh46 million.
He was accompanied by Deputy Governor H.E. Waithaka Mwangi Kirika, Speaker Hon.Ndegwa Wahome, Health CEC Dr. Peter Kung’u Mbugua and CEC and Members of County Assembly.
He said: “Time has come for us to focus on big projects that will assist our people and help in attracting visitors from outside.”
He said the proposed Sh1 billion children hospital inside JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital that is being undertaken in collaboration with Schneider Children Hospital of Israel, will attract patients from across the country.
