His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia on Wednesday met the County Scouts movement leadership, which had paid a courtesy call on him.
Through their County Commissioner, Madam Lydia Wangeci, they outlined their calendar of events under the theme DRUGS AND
CHILDS ONLINE SAFETY, to be unveiled during the movement’s Founder’s Day,
held annually from February 22nd – 24th.
Nyandarua’s celebrations are scheduled for Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at Huruma Primary School
grounds in Ol’Kalou Sub-County.
The Governor and his deputy, Her Excellency (Mrs.) Cecilia Mbuthia, have been invited to preside over the event.
The County head was also asked to be the movement’s County Scouts Patron.
On his part, Governor Kimemia agreed to support the movement through the County Government’s Youth and Education dockets.
“Be distinct through community-friendly initiatives like tree
planting, rehabilitation, anti-drugs campaigns,” he said.
He also agreed to be their patron.
In this role, he will head major
scouting activities in and out of the country.
He will be their symbol
of unity and play a leading role in combating drugs and substance abuse in Nyandarua.
