This afternoon, H.E Governor Francis Kimemia played host to the Kenya Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund secretarist, and Equity Group Foundation led by the CEO Dr. James Mwangi for the distribution of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to Engineer Level 4 hospital, and other health facilities.
In his brief address, Governor Kimemia thanked the Equity Group Foundation for partnering with the County Government in the fight against this global pandemic.
“Through Corporate Social Responsibility, Nyandarua takes pride in being among the Counties benefiting from donations from the corporate world. This is a major boost from Equity Group, and will go a long way in ensuring the safety of our health personel, who remain our front line soldiers in this fight,” said the Governor.
On his part, Dr. Mwangi recognized Nyandarua as a model County which has earned several awards for it’s prudent use of public resources.
“This is an exceptional County. Having been awarded thrice for emerging best among the 47 Counties in the prudent use of funds is by all means no mean feat,” added Dr. Mwangi, who at the same time acknowledged Nyandarua County Finance and Economic Development Executive Committee Member Hon. Mary Mugwanja who happens to be a former Equity Bank Westlands branch Manager, for overseeing proper management of public resources.
The Group Chaiman Prof. Issac Macharia echoed the CEO’s sentiments to the effect that Nyandarua is a County to pride in.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Mwangi said that he was proud of the fact that Nyandarua, being his home County, has a development oriented leader in H.E Governor Kimemia, calling on other elected leaders in the County to emulate him.
Present during the event were Nyandarua County WOman Representative Hon. Faith Gitau, Kinangop Constituency MP Hon. Kwenya Thuku, severeal Members of the County Executive Committee and senior County and Equity Group Foundation officials, among others.
