Deputy Governor Her Excellency (Mrs.) Cecilia Mbuthia today received the second batch of medicines and related supplies for Nyandarua County, worth Kshs. 35 million.
The drugs range from the most basic varieties found in dispensaries, to the most complex found in referral hospitals, in addition to vaccines and treatment for cancer.
“It is as per disease patterns in our County. For instance, we have less of Malaria drugs but more for pneumonia and asthma, since the latter two affect most of our people,” she said.
The Deputy Governor, who also heads the Department of Health Services, said all County health centers, Sub-County and County referral hospitals will have been fully supplied by this week’s end.
His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia received the first batch in the second quarter of this financial year.
