To ensure all hospitals and health facilities across the County are adequately stocked and prepared during this period of Covid-19 pandemic, Nyandarua County Government through the department of Health Services has procured drugs and medical supplies worth Ksh. 45 million through Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA).
“Preparedness must be holistic and touch on every aspect of health prevention, promotion and treatment. The supplies we receive today are part of our health strategy which ensures our health facilities are capacitated to deal with not just Covid-19 but other illnesses handled on routine,” His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia said through a short statement delivered by County Executive Committee Member Hon. John Njenga.
And to further prepare the County during this period, 40 medical interns have been posted to the main facilities – JM Memorial Hospital and Engineer County Referral Hospital, as well as other health centres and dispensaries. The interns will ensure County health facilities run seamlessly through adequate staffing.
