County Secretary and Head of Public Service Mr. Hiram Kahiro presided over Nyandarua’s finals ahead of the Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association (KYISA) tournament, set for Makueni later this month.
Through the County Government, each of the participating teams had received facilitation for training, branding, transport and accommodation, in addition to recognition by sponsors.
Mr. Kahiro said teams identified yesterday will immediately go into residential training.
“We will continually make changes needed in sports administration and management to address emerging issues,” he added.
The County Government plans to form credible County teams to compete in relevant regional and national leagues.
“It is not the critic of our youth and children who counts; not the man or woman who points out how they stumble. Our youth and children’s place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat,” said Mr. Kahiro.
