Lady Justice Roselyn Wendo paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency the Deputy Governor (Mrs.) Cecilia Mbuthia at her office, on her way to the High Court site in Ol’Kalou, where construction is underway.
The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by the County Executive Committee Member in charge of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development Hon. Lawrence Mukundi, pledged to work closely with the Judiciary to ensure smooth running of the construction work and other areas in which the latter may require assistance.
Lady Justice Wendo proceeded to the site accompanied by Hon. Mukundi and engineers from the Judiciary to assess progress of the construction and address issues concerning access to the County Assembly.
The road earlier been earmarked for use by the legislature was right inside the court’s precincts.
The Assembly has been seeking an alternative route for ease of access.
The Judiciary team suggested that there be side parking lots immediately outside the Court’s fence to serve as reserve parking in case the limited space at the Assembly fails to accommodate the rising number of the latter’s users.
It was mutually noted that the issue is subject to discussion and approval by the Chief Registrar.
The Judiciary team promised to fast-track its resolution.
