Provision of Healthcare services is a key mandate of our County Goverment and a basic right for our people. In this endeavor the department of Health services monitors access and quality of health care provision with a view to closing gaps identified and raise standards of service.
In line with this, I hail a major milestone for this sector. Yesterday, we received a team from Afya House and China who visited JM Hospital in Ol’Kalou to site the location of nine CT Scans designated for the hospital.
With this new technology, the people of Nyandarua will have access to the state of the art radiology and diagnostic services, in addition to the now accessible renal dialysis and enable efficient surgical services at JM Hospital. Our people will no longer have to travel outside the County for these services! This is a major step towards attaining Universal Health Coverage for the people of Nyandarua.
His Excellency Francis Kimemia’s administration subscribes to the commitment to achieving the highest quality of health care for the people of Nyandarua that is affordable and accessible to all. Beginning this financial year, and in support of the President’s Big four agenda on health the county government has initiated a program to expand NHIF coverage for residents with a subsidy and care program for aged and vulnerable families. In addition, various health facilities are set for upgrade. Human resource for health is also in view together with these advancements.
