His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia has launched construction works for the Soko Mjinga-Mukeu-Fly Over-Kenton road, which will be carried out in the next Financial Year.
Works for phase I, which will cover a distance of 4.1 kilometres, will include bush clearing of 5,200 square metres; grading of 28,800 square metres; installation of 32 culverts in 5 sections; back slope maintenance of an area of 3,400 square metres and gravel spot patching and compacting on 3 sections totaling a distance of750 metres.
Phase II, on the other hand, will cover a distance of 4.9 kilometres, with works including bush clearing of an area of 3,000 square metres; grading of 24,500 square metres; culverts installation in two sections; backfilling on both sides of the bridge to make the sloppy road gentle; gravel spot patching and compacting on eight sections totaling a distance of 680 metres.
“Our journey towards an efficient transportation system that includes road, railways and air support will continue,” said the Governor.
