His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia speaks at a luncheon for Central Region Economic Bloc heads hosted by the British High Commissioner to Kenya Her Excellency Ms. Jane Marriot in Nyeri County.
Governor Kimemia highlighted socio-economic and political challenges prevailing in Nyandarua and the wider region, before outlining opportunities for collaboration across such sectors as food security, trade, manufacturing, tourism and health care.
The Governor asked the British Government, through its agencies, to review its proposed interventions and incorporate CEREB’s comprehensive action plan going forward.
Acknowledging that engagements in the region by the British Government and its agencies are essential, the County boss pledged CEREB’s full support in advancement of the collaboration.
The primary objective of CEREB is leveraging on economies of scale in undertaking joint development projects and activities for its 10 member counties, which are Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Kiambu and Nakuru.
Governor Kimemia was elected the first head of the bloc after the 2017 General Election.
