HIS, NYANDARUA UNIVERSITY, WE\u2019LL GET – GOV. BADILISHA<\/div><\/div>
Key milestones in the journey towards establishment of the University of Nyandarua:<\/div><\/div>
September, 2022: His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha revives the \u2018University of Nyandarua\u2019s Steering Committee\u2019. The team comes up with a strategic plan and report\/ roadmap on the university;<\/div><\/div>
15\/11\/2022: The entire County Leadership consisting of the Governor and elected MPs meets and agrees in principle to have the university established; in subsequent meetings, the also agree to pool resources for the same;<\/div><\/div>
11\/12\/2022: Governor Badilisha submits the initial report to the president, H.E William Ruto at a thanksgiving service in Wanjohi Primary school; President Ruto grants the request for establishment of the university and directs adoption of the committee\u2019s findings;<\/div><\/div>
3\/2\/2023: Governor Badilisha presents the Steering Committee\u2019s report to the CEO of the Commission for University Education Prof. Mike Kuria; this is in preparation for issuance of the Legal Notice;<\/div><\/div>
2\/6\/2023: Governor Badilisha presents the report to the University of Nairobi\u2019s Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama. The university accepts to incubate the proposed university until its full establishment. Matter is taken to the university Council for adoption;<\/div><\/div>
28\/3\/2024: Governor Badilisha presents progress report to the Cabinet Secretary for Education Hon. Ezekiel Machogu for action and commencement of legal processes and development of instruments;<\/div><\/div>
27\/3\/2024: In furtherance to the resolutions of the meeting between Governor Badilisha and the CS Education Hon. Machogu, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and CUE led by Prof. Urbanas Mutuiwa visits the county to help in development of legal instruments for the university;<\/div><\/div>
3\/4\/2024: Subsequent to the meeting between Governor Badilisha and the CS Hon. Machogu, and the CUE, the University of Nairobi visits Nyandarua county for initial assessment of infrastructure and levels of preparedness for the establishment of the University college in readiness for the University of Nyandarua; the team is led by DVC – Academic Affairs Prof. Leonidah Kerubo.<\/div><\/div>
