Badilisha Kiarie, Chief Officer for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development Mr. Julius Ng&#8217;ambi presided over an ownership documents verification exercise for 67 plots, ahead of the formal issuance of title deeds to residents of Rurii Ward, Ol\u2019Kalou Sub-County.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">The squatters, who worked on previously white-owned farms, were aggregated into colonial villages with no meaningful ownership documents, denying them the opportunity to construct permanent houses, access to credit facilities and basic social services due to constraints of space.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Locally known as \u201cSite,\u201d Rurii is one of the 28 colonial villages in Nyandarua targeted by the Governor for the second phase of the County\u2019s titling program.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Its 101 plots were verified under Phase One, pending issuance of land lease certificates.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Nyandarua\u2019s colonial villages are estimated to host 5,000 households, with an approximate population of 50,000 people.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Mr. Ng\u2019ambi was accompanied by area Member of the County Assembly Hon.
