Members of the Nyandarua County Trade Development and Investment Authority, led by its Chairperson Qs. Isaac Gitura, engage investors from Powerhive East Africa on possible provision of affordable electricity in off-grid areas.
The firm develops scalable and bankable off-grid utility solutions to ease universal access to clean energy and related opportunities, including for co-operative societies and industries.
A resident of Ndunyu-Njeru, Mr. John Kambo – who was part of the delegation – added that the investors are also keen on value addition to reduce post-harvest losses.
In a separate interaction with Mr. Chi Yuwen of Garment Chamber of Commerce, China, the Authority explored maximization of raw materials within Nyandarua.
Mr. Shangdong, who represents over 100 textile companies, is also keen on the County’s cottage industry, renewable energy, contracted farming and offering technological farming solutions to everyday problems for Nyandarua’s residents.
Mr. Gitura was accompanied by, among other senior County Government officials, Chief Officer for Industrialization and Trade Mr. Samson Kabugi and Mr. Kevin Ikua from the Office of the Governor.
