His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia inspects the ongoing construction of Thitai Bridge, washed away a few months ago.

Urging the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to fast-track the works, Governor Kimemia further assured residents and all road users that a shorter diversion will be ready for use within two weeks as they await completion of the main bridge.

“The current diversion, which cuts through General China-Gichigíra and on to Kariamu is way too long and inconveniencing,” noted the Governor.

The upcoming diversion is, like the current one, a stop-gap measure initiated by the County Government.

Works on the bridge are expected to end by the close of October.

The Governor was accompanied by County Executive Committee Member for Transport, Energy and public Works Hon. Mary Mugwanja, Chief of Staff Mr. Charles Wachira, alongside Chief Officers Mr. Isaac Wanjiru (Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services) and Lawrence Gitau (Transport, Energy and public Works), among other senior County Government officials.
